Using Pidgin Music Tracker 0.4.22

Hello! First of all I want to tell you that I am IN LOVE with everything comes out from Ubuntu ๐Ÿ˜€

Here I want to share how to use Plug In Music Tracker on Pidgin.

I am a newbie that’s why I want to share everything I try. I hope it might help you guys ^^,

Pidgin is a multiple-chat program default instant messenger client in Ubuntu. It looks like other multiple chat programsย  but I found Pidgin is easier and more user-friendly. Pidgin is another alternative of Empathy in Ubuntu. You can even use Pidgin not only in UNIX/LINUX but also Windows, Fedora, Macintosh, and CentOS/RHEL!

How to use Pidgin Music Tracker

Once you have installed Pidgin, you may want to add some plugins to it, including Music Tracker. You may also want to install the Music Tracker (the plugin that enables you to show the music/video you are listening or watching.)

Here it is! ๐Ÿ™‚

1. Download the Music Tracker Plugin

2. Install the Music Tracker

by clicking Tools > Plugins( Ctrl+U) > Music Tracker 0.4.22 > Tick the box

3. Configure the Plugin

by clicking button Configure Plugin. Here you can choose what you want to share to others, the song, the album, or the artist. You may also want to configure the Player (WMP/Windows Media Classic/ etc). After finished configuring, click Close

4. Pidgin need “REFRESH”

Refresh the Pidgin (close all tabs regarding to Pidgin and open again) then VOILA… your Music Tracker has been installed! ๐Ÿ™‚

5. The Music Tracker will not appear when you are busy or invisible. It will appear when you are online or away… ๐Ÿ™‚

Pidgin and the Music Tracker will be installed in the Programs / Programs and Features in your computer.
